The Bronze Pelican is intended for adults who volunteer in one of the youth serving programs of the Boy Scouts of American. the successful nominee will have given service above and beyond that of what is expected. Service must relate to a Catholic sponsored BSA unit or to the promotion and completion of the religious awards for Catholic Youth. This is not an automatic award and not all nominees will be successful. Be sure to complete all parts of the form.

Requirements for the St. George award are similar to those of the Bronze Pelican except that it is a national award. The successful nominee will have given service at a level superior to that of the Bronze Pelican recipient. He or she must have provided "outstanding service" to Catholic young people through one or more of the programs of the Boy Scouts of America. The diocese is limited in the number of awards it can present. Not all nominees will be successful.

The National Federation for Catholic Youth Ministry, acting through the local diocese, may award the St. Anne or the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Awards to members of the laity and clergy. Registered volunteers and non-registered volunteers alike, who have made significant and outstanding contributions to the spiritual development of Catholic young people through the programs of the Girl Scouts, American Heritage or Campfire.
You may not nominate yourself or your spouse. General volunteer achievements alone do not qualify for the awards. Successful nominees will have a proven track-record of supporting Catholic spiritual growth through the programs of the named youth programs. The committee desires to present as many awards as possible. However, they cannot consider nominations when inadequate information has been provided. |
